I’m actually in a very non musical family . I know some people can’t imagine that but singing turns into jokes most of the time. I’m don’t really like the ideas of extra testimony meetings of songs at all. I role my eye and my whole family wants to skip church we hope we are out of town. I don’t like father’s days my dad passed away the day before Father’s Day and we all just stared at the gifts we bought unsure of what to do. So all in all this is a super crappy day and I’m totally annoyed but I keep praying about it and decided to think about why Hynms?? One instance came to mind. I was talking with my kids and they always tease me because I have lyricist I can’t remember the words. With the exception of a few 90s country songs I always go blank. They asked what song comes to mind when people ask your favorite song or what song if your backup song 🎵. What music do you go to when you are happy - sad. They asked a few other questions and they didn’t believe me when I said nothing. I didn’t really have nothing I actually have one song that goes through my head as background music I’m not sure why no significant pint pointing story but the only song I know all the words always. I didn’t tell them the song cause I was a little embarrassed I knew they were being 🤪 silly. That moment stuck in my head. I have a kid who speaks through music and I don’t speak that language or even understand it , it might not be the way god speaks to me but I do know god speaks through music. The song that is forever stuck in my head is I am a child of God. When I can’t sleep at night it’s what my mind sings. During the sacrament to try and focus it’s what comes to mind when you say think of a song that is what pops in my head. If anyone ever asks for a suggestion hymn from me that is all I can come up with. It’s not the truth I necessarily want but it’s the truth so I’m going to bare testimony that I am A child of God and I’m grateful for a never ending reminder through a simple song. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
